Valhalla Gaming became a San Andreas Multiplayer Roleplay Community back in the first couple months of 2007. During this time, Valhalla and the now-defunct Godfather server shared a roleplay script, of which Valhalla got custom updates. Around this time, there was very little emphasis on the use of commands and the script was a basically a modified team deathmatch script, rather than the full blown roleplay script that it is now.
During Late May/June 07, FeaR (First Scripter) was released the Godfather script for public use (a move that would spawn lots of copycat communities, even to this day). The new script consisted of commands that players in our server know probably won't have even used such as the Mafia Family Creation system and for the first time, we roleplayed not only in Los Santos but also in San Fierro with new scripters, a new town and a new attitude towards roleplay..
The servers population which had steadily climbed since it's creation, began to fall in late 07. The players of the previous ten months or so switched players with new members coming into the community as well as players who had previously played with the community prior to SA:MP returning, including one of our Community Owners, Bobby Light.
Valhalla gradually restored and surpassed itself in 2008. The prominance of being an official listed server for SA:MP, boasting one of the best roleplay scripts as well as the financial support from former owner, Yoshira Lilium contributed the server reaching it's record high amount of players, reaching the then-player cap of 200.
However, unfortunately due to several conflicts with the administration, the community slowed down once again until it was purchased from the owners by Overdrive in late 2008.
The community changed alot during the initial stages of the takeover. Valhalla now had a Multi Theft Auto server, and another community within itself which it'd never had before. Admin decisions and practices now were more fair and controlled, replacing the care free and favourist attitude of the previous team. The Roleplay Script went more in depth, and interactive than ever before, with alot of new features being added, and a near total conversion to SQL.
However, unfortunately during 2009, for reasons felt unjust by it's community members, Valhalla was exiled from publicly being a part of the San Andreas Multiplayer community however due to it's cult following and dedicated members, our SA:MP server continues to run and perform well considering the circumstances.
Valhalla has had some great times and some not so great times, but continues to this day to be one of the most well known Roleplay servers, and has one of the highest active forum member counts of the SA:MP communities.
